Family Visits

In August, our grandsons, brothers Justin and Colby came for a week-long visit, accompanied by big sister Ashley. We arranged lots of activities to keep the boys busy. We went crabbing. Justin holds the crab

We went fishing. No one seemed able to catch the coho migrating just off shore, but Justin had a wonderful time catching (and then releasing) sculpin. Justin and his sculpin
Every evening just at dusk we had fireworks (sparklers, actually).
The boys built forts, explored the forest around the property. Wherever they went, they were prepared for anything.
After the boys left, Bowen and Leah visited. They spent time exploring the peninsula on their own, but one day we went with them for a wonderful hike along Second Beach, near La Push. Several pictures of our outing follow, as much to show off the wonderful scenery as the family.
As evening fell, Bo managed a quick check of the waves at LaPush, while the rest of us watched.
Another day we hiked up Hurricane Hill, in Olyumpic National Park. There wasn't much to be seen, we were in the fog, but it was still wonderful.
